Comparison: Unsupervised Management vs. MES Audit
This is NOT a 360° feedback survey.
MES is an audit tool that evaluates a manager’s effectiveness at a specific moment in time.Accountability
Managers are untouchable; no one questions them
Objective performance scorecard across 12 categories
Department Transparency
Black box — the manager closes the door and what happens inside is unknown
Anonymous data creates department-level visibility
Employee Complaints
Treated as “complaints” that managers can easily justify
Pattern-based data — trends instead of individual complaints
Success Criteria
Only numbers matter — if results are delivered, anything is tolerated
Results + management quality evaluated together
Psychological Safety
Not measured — fear culture and bullying remain hidden
Direct measurement through C1 Psychological Safety category
Perception of Training
Seen as an event — networking or social activity
Seen as a prescription based on MES scores
Participation Attitude
Participant behaves like a guest — optional attendance
Participant behaves like a patient — mandatory improvement
Post-Training
File closed — no follow-up, development unclear
Development tracked through Re-Audit
L&D Investment
Random catalog-based training — ROI unclear
Gap-based targeted training with measurable ROI
MES Loop : Audit → Gap Identification → Training Prescription
